Fear and Loathing

As part of Tryer’s researched, he asked most people he talked to in the town in Homer the same question and got their different opinions. He also asked the Police chief of the town the same questions and included a quote from an email response from him. He also has written articles about his topic that he quotes and recordings of council meetings. Tryer uses a lot of personal statements in his interview and voice recordings. This can cause a struggle because you’re basing it on a “he said, she said situation.”

You can tell if a source is credible if it lists an author who wrote the information and provides a date of publishing. The date is important because you want updated information and data that is relevant to the time period you’re in. Information is getting updated often and some data gets outdated. You should also always check the sources of webpages and articles because this shows where they are getting their information. I also have always lived by the rule that if the website ends in edu. or .org are usually credible sources. I thin these sources are credible because they are educational or informative and can’t raise any bias. I personally think that there are people that can talk about controversial topics without bias but the more dedicated you are to a topic, the more bias you get.

I’m researching from the vegan community of people who have the health need for veganism and those who don’t. I am very curious to research this because I do believe that certain diets or vitamins help the body more than not having anything and want to research this to try to help a loved one with GERD. From what I’ve heard, being vegan helps but which issues does it help exactly? This is part of what I want to know.
